The Historic Hyatt in downtown Minneapolis, a legacy hotel, was experiencing water leaks into lower- level areas. Upon inspection, we discovered a pump room located directly beneath the problem area — on the 17th floor.
To resolve the issue, we fully removed the tile, waterproofed the entire slab, adjusted drain heights, and installed a 3/8” surface buildup. Despite access and noise constraints, we completed the 2,000 SF Tuscan Trowel system installation while the hotel remained fully occupied. The project was successfully finished on Christmas morning, leaving the hotel with a durable, leak-proof coating system.
