Chase Hicks, President, Concrete Science Aquatics Division
Chase Hicks brings years of hands-on experience and strategic leadership to his role as President of the Concrete Science Aquatics Division. Beginning his career on installation crews, Chase developed a deep understanding of the concrete and coatings industry from the ground up. His early roles in sales and operations gave him unique insights into every aspect of project execution, from client relationships to technical precision. Under Chase’s guidance, the Concrete Science Aquatics Division has grown into a nationally recognized leader in aquatic flooring solutions. Known for delivering the best experience for facility directors and their customers, the division also emphasizes the lowest total cost of ownership through durable products that extend surface life and reduce liability.
Josh Wachter, Chief Financial Officer
With 15 years of experience in construction financial accounting, Josh has cultivated a career centered around building processes and leading teams. When he met the Concrete Science team, he wasn’t seeking a career change. But their vision and goals inspired him to join. The opportunity to build something from the ground up, foster team chemistry, and create meaningful processes reignited his passion for impactful leadership and innovation. He plays a pivotal role in implementing financial reporting systems, revenue recognition protocols, and job cost analyses essential to supporting our rapid expansion into new markets.

John Sotter, Safety Consultant
John is the Vice President of Sotter Engineering and has trained in floor slip resistance testing in the U.S. and the U.K. (including pendulum and Tortus manufacturing facilities). He has done most of Sotter Engineering’s floor slip resistance testing work for the past twenty years, doing testing for more than 1,000 individual clients, both in our laboratory and in the field from Hawaii to Maine, British Columbia to Mexico, New York to Florida, and everywhere in between. He has tested floors and road surfaces for some of the world’s largest international corporations. John’s twenty years of extensive experience with floor slip resistance testing using the BOT-3000E, British Pendulum Tester, Tortus digital tribometer, SlipAlert, and ASTM C1028 static friction test device, is unmatched both in the United States and in the Americas. He has worked in floor friction testing and floor friction treatment in the USA, Canada, Mexico, and on the high seas. He helped develop an anti-slip floor coating that has now been sold in dozens of countries.
Jim Buley, Superintendent/Project Manager, Concrete Science Aquatics Division
Jim Buley is a seasoned professional with over 25 years of experience in the concrete and acrylic concrete coatings industry. Throughout his career, he has played a pivotal role innumerous large-scale projects, specializing in both new build waterparks and full-scale renovations. His expertise in floor coatings has helped transform waterparks into durable, visually appealing, and safe environments for visitors.
Ryan O’Connor, Production Manager
Ryan has over 20 years of experience in the concrete coatings industry specializing incementitious coatings for both waterparks and residential applications. His expertise spans project management, surface preparation, and application techniques that ensure durability and aesthetic appeal. With a deep understanding of industry standards and innovative coating solutions, Ryan has played a key role in numerous large-scale waterpark projects and high-endresidential installations. His commitment to quality and attention to detail have earned him a strong reputation among clients and industry professionals alike, making him a trusted expert in the field of concrete coatings.
Davrin Bateman, Project Foreman
Davrin is a project foreman with eight years of epoxy and aquatic flooring experience. His duties include project completion oversight, adherence to safety standards and correspondence withon-site clientele. Most recently, Davrin oversaw the completion of Great Wolf Lodge in Mashantucket, CT.
Bryan Palmquist, Project Foreman
Bryan is a Senior Foreman at Concrete Science. As the company's longest-tenured foreman, his primary responsibilities include following detailed installation specifications, saw cutting and maintaining project morale. Bryan has been a part of every waterpark installation since the inception of Concrete Science Aquatics .
Scott Vnuk, Project Foreman
Scott Vnuk is a project foreman with five years of experience specializing in acrylic flooring. His duties include managing project timelines, ensuring adherence to technical installation specifications, overseeing overall project management from the field and maintaining safety standards. Most recently, Scott oversaw the completion of Great Wolf Lodge in Webster, TX.
